Who this covers

LinkedIn Activity Tracker (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension that passively logs your own activity on LinkedIn for a personal daily challenge. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

What the extension records

When you use LinkedIn yourself, the extension records counts and timestamps of actions you personally perform:

• Reactions, comments and replies, reposts, and posts you create
• Connection requests and messages you send
• Active time you spend on LinkedIn

When you open LinkedIn’s own analytics pages, the extension may record aggregate numbers shown on those pages:

• Social Selling Index (SSI)
• Profile-viewer counts
• Dashboard metrics: post impressions, total followers, profile viewers, search appearances, weekly posts, weekly comments

What the extension never records

• The text of your messages, comments, or posts
• Cookies, tokens, passwords, emails, or photos
• Other people’s profiles, individual profile viewers, or private content
• Your browsing on any site other than LinkedIn

Where your data is stored

All data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device. There is:

• No backend server and no account
• No cloud sync
• No analytics or telemetry upload of your activity data
• No sharing or selling of data to third parties

Optional metadata (off by default)

Some optional, more detailed metadata (such as comment length or the profile URL of a connection request) is only recorded if you explicitly opt in via the extension’s privacy settings. It remains local like everything else. Any stored URL is reduced to its origin and path (query strings and fragments are removed) before it is saved.

Permissions the extension requests

• storage — to save your activity data locally on your device.
• idle — to measure active time on LinkedIn accurately by detecting when you step away.
• Access to https://www.linkedin.com/* — the extension only runs on LinkedIn, where it observes your own activity. It does not run on any other website.

The extension only observes LinkedIn. It never clicks, types, scrolls, submits forms, sends messages, or performs any action on your behalf.

Controlling and deleting your data

• You can export all of your local data as JSON, CSV, or Markdown at any time from the dashboard.
• You can pause tracking or clear your data from the extension.
• Removing the extension from Chrome deletes all of its local data.

Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised and the new version will be published at this URL.
